David Gales takes no prisoners. Words like visionary, focused, insightful and committed are often used to describe his approach to any project he undertakes. His ability to articulate the essence of an issue and provide experienced and effective guidance has kept this veteran marketer in demand from diverse fields.

As the internet and mobile platforms transform the traditional marketing process, David is in his customary visionary role. “Understanding the customer’s need is as vital as understanding the product,” he explains, “You can’t rely on a middle man to establish your brand with the audience”. Staying a step ahead of trends is what he offers his clients. While many consultants preach, David Gales listens. He knows that the best solutions are ones where the client has ownership in the process. “We’re not black box solutions experts,” he continues. “TGN has always been about extending your team.”

Since founding The Gales Network in 1995, David has worked with key clients ranging from Microsoft Corporation, Warner Music Group and Anonimo Firenze USA to Fitness Holdings, Tilted Palm Beverages and Myers Point. As a new technologies and marketing expert, he has spoken before the Country Music Association's (CMA) Music Industry & New Technology series, American Marketing Association (AMA)/Vanderbilt University Frontiers In Services Conference, International Bluegrass Music Association (IMBA) Business Conference, National Association of Record Merchandisers (Digital NARM), MUSICOM, CMA's Marketing with Country Music, The Recording Academy (NARAS), the Gospel Music Association and Digital Hollywood.

Prior to establishing The Gales Network, David held senior management positions at RCA, A&M, and Columbia Records where he was instrumental in the careers of major recording artists including Janet Jackson, Sting, Amy Grant, Clint Black, Gladys Knight, Bruce Hornsby, ZZ Top and on soundtracks for Footloose, Top Gun and Good Morning Vietnam, among many others.

David is a Leadership Music alumnus, a founding member of the CMA's Future Markets Task Force, a founding member of the Leadership Music Digital Summit, a NARAS member and has served on the Leadership Music Council and Nashville Film Festival Board of Directors. He is editor of The Big Ideas Report, a platform for communicating emerging topics in business, their surrounding issues and strategic positions for stakeholders. When he isn’t immersed in solving a client issue, he is likely to be bicycling with his wife and son.
