Melinda Scruggs Gales is in her element. “Working with growing enterprises where people are passionate about their work is like oxygen and exercise to me. It is essential to a good day’s work. Collaborating with a client and watching them experience the ‘Ah ha’ moment when they truly connect with a vision of their future dream is my ultimate satisfaction.”
Melinda’s ability to facilitate a process is a core strength she brings to TGN. Whether one-on-one or speaking to an audience of hundreds, Melinda’s passion and spirit are contagious. “The business world is on the doorstep of productivity revolution in the digital age. Understanding the shift in power from the major media and retail channels to the primary rights holder is vital to creating future success. You navigate this new territory by the Brand Building process.”
In 2007, Melinda rejoined The Gales Network on a full-time basis following four years with O’Neil Hagaman, a premier business management firm serving some of the top names in country music (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, etc.). While there, she specialized in online new revenue initiatives, sponsorship interface, merchandising, non-profit development, special events and content exploitation.
Previously, Melinda was a founding executive of Blanton/Harrell Entertainment and Reunion Records. After a decade working with artists such as Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and Take 6, she left Reunion to create a music distribution division for AOL/Time Warner's WEA Corp. As Vice President and General Manager, she developed and built Warner Christian Distribution from the ground up.
Melinda served for over a decade as a board member of the Gospel Music Association (GMA) including several years as an officer, as well as Chairperson of Gospel Music Week. She was a Christian Music Trade Association (CMTA) board member and committee chair. Her positions on branding and retail strategies have been published in Billboard Magazine and she has spoken at numerous Industry functions on the growth of Gospel music. Melinda is a Grammy (NARAS) voting member, a member of SOURCE, GMA and a Leadership Music alumna. She enjoys cycling with the Harpeth Bike Club and harvesting vegetables from the garden with her son.
